Mr Alasdair Gordon
Mr Alasdair D Gordon qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1987. He held training posts in obstetrics and gynaecology at several Teaching hospitals in London before obtaining training in General Surgery obtaining the FRCSEd prior to a Registrar rotation between UCLH and The Whittigton Hospitals obtaining the MRCOG.
He carried out research into new treatments for fibroids at The National Medical Laser Centre prior to completing his training.
He was appointed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust in October 2000, and is currently the Clinical Director.
Mr Gordon is an accredited colposcopist and has maintained his interest in the management of uterine fibroids. He regularly carries out Nice approved treatments for the treatment of : heavy periods (Thermachoice ablation), Stress Urinary Incontinence (TVT); Ectopic pregnancy (Laparoscopic). He runs a rapid access clinic for the investigation and diagnosis of suspected gynaecological cancers.
Mr Gordon's experience includes:
- The management of abnormal smears including HPV testing, colposcopy, LLETZ/Cone Biopsy for CIN.
- The medical and surgical investigation and treatment of PCOS (polycystic ovaries).
- The management of abnormal vaginal bleeding including heavy periods. Medical and surgical intervention.
- Investigation of painful periods.
- Investigation of pelvic pain.
- Investigation of dyspareunia (pain with sex).
- Endometriosis Diagnosis medical and surgical treatment including Laparoscopic Helca Ablation.
- Fibroids hysteroscopic resection, open myomectomy hysterectomy
- Laparoscopic treatment of benign ovarian cysts including dermoids.
- Basic investigation of infertility referring to Miss Lyons for further management.
- Investigation and management of Stress Urinary Incontinence and Urge incontinence.
- Investigation and treatment of Peri -menopausal & Post menopausal bleeding (PMB).
- Discussion and treatment of Menopausal symptoms including the use of HRT.
- The management of uterovaginal prolapse including surgery that can be carried out under regional anaesthesia.
