There will usually be more than one option and possible risks and benefits will be made clear to you. Together you will plan the treatment approach that works best for you.
If treatment for your condition would be best managed using a surgical approach then this will have been discussed in detail with you. Whenever possible surgery is performed laproscopically (keyhole surgery) so as to minimise recovery time and scarring. If this approach is felt to be inapproriate then your gynaecologist will advise you and an open approach may be necessary.
It is always important to us that you feel free and comfortable to ask questions throughout the decision making process.
At our hospitals there are no worries about long waiting lists - you will be able to plan when and where your surgery happens and have it as quickly as is necessary. The standards of hygiene in our hospitals is very high with rigorous and regular inspections. Our highly skilled nurses will deliver expert care as part of a friendly and professional team.
If medicines are recommended as part of the treatment for you condition then a private prescription can be issued by the consultant gynaecologist at the time of the consultation. This means that your treatment can begin right away.
For some gynaecological problems it may be that physiotherapy can often be the first and most effective treatment. If this is the case your gynaecologist will arrange a referral to excellent state registered physiotherapists who will introduce you and guide you to use exercise programmes and specialised equipment.
